How to register at the town hall in Portugal
Portugal has no padrón. The closest step is an atestado de residência from your Junta de Freguesia, the parish council. Take a number, then say “Preciso de registar a minha morada”. Bring ID and proof of address, and ask “Que documentos tenho de trazer?”, as requirements vary. EU citizens also register at the Câmara Municipal.
Try it · about two minutes
You go to your parish council, the Junta de Freguesia, with your rental contract to get a certificate of address, which other paperwork often asks for.
You choose what to say back, and Frasa tells you why it works.
