How to open a bank account in Italy
Go to a branch, ideally with an appointment, and say “Vorrei aprire un conto”. Bring your passport and your codice fiscale, the tax code: you need it to open an account. Ask “Il conto ha un canone mensile?”, since many Italian accounts charge a monthly fee. Not yet resident? Ask about an account for non-residents.
Try it · about two minutes
At a bank branch you ask which documents you need and which fees apply to open a current account.
Sound on: the bank clerk speaks Italian. You choose what to say back, and Frasa tells you why it works.
