How to ask for directions in German
Start with “Entschuldigung” and ask “Wo ist der Bahnhof?” or “Wie komme ich zum Hauptbahnhof?”. Then ask “Ist es weit zu Fuß?”. Listen for geradeaus (straight on), links (left), rechts (right) and an der Ampel (at the lights), and repeat the key turns back to check.
Try it · about two minutes
You stop a passer-by to ask the way to the station and whether it’s walkable.
Sound on: the passer-by speaks German. You choose what to say back, and Frasa tells you why it works.
